I’ve been reading alot of material recently about the undercutting of artists, most of them based on being asked to submit work for free for the ‘valuable’ exposure. I thought it was a great idea at first but it seems to create an impression that your work has insignificant value after awhile. Good for him.

The offer of exposure is an illusion. How many times have you looked at an image and wondered who took it? My guess is very rarely indeed. So next time someone offers you “exposure”, consider if it comes with a guarantee of future income. If it does, then you can guarantee them an image worth something.
